Can i write letters to someone attending here....
I have a lady friend who is a client. If you are not ready for a change and are not ready for help of course this place is going to suck. I went from 3 stars to 5 stars. This place is only as good as the effort you are going to give to sobriety. I was at a 3 star yesterday changed it to 5 stars today. If staff reads this one thing about you program that really bugs me is your 8 to 4 window for drop offs Monday through Friday. There are really good people in your clients lives that make dropping off and mailing on Saturday due to work almost mission impossible. That is my only complaint. Maybe one day for drop offs til 7 or 8 maybe.
Cruelty can be a great motivator. It's funny having spent 90 or so days here and a few years later earning an MSW and learning how different modalities and methods of "therapy" have their effect. CPI definitely encouraged me to get out and stay out of the system and for that I have a lot of gratitude ... but I'm not convinced the cruelty and utter crassness of the staff is as "therapeutic" to every resident as it was for me. I would wager that if CPI treated its residents like humans and maximized their compassion over blunt discourses or "didactics" and scare tactics they would see their return and recidivism rates sharply decline. ...I always said that if it ever came to it and I had to choose between jail or CPI, I would choose jail. Luckily I have come out of my ignorant, blind ways and perhaps CPI helped spur that. This is one "addict" who did not become part of the 77% to re-offend within three years or beyond for that matter. ...Thank you, CPI?
